Our Meetings
What happens?
We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at Hucclecote Rugby Club, Gloucester. All meetings start at 19:30 and run until approximately 22:00 with a break of about 15 minutes at some convenient point between 20:30 and 20:45 for tea / coffee. The hall opens from approx 19:00 to allow members to gather and chat to each other and buy whatever they need from the shop.
At most meetings we have :
- A top class demonstrator who will show you how they make one or two items, showing the techniques required, answering questions and giving tips on the projects and turning in general
- A free video/DVD library which contains well known titles on woodturning
- A woodturning sundries sale (abrasives, finishes etc.) and a wood sale (bowl and spindle blanks)
- Free tea/coffee at the mid session break (bring your own cup), where members can catch up with all the gossip
- A raffle
- A ‘turn and win’ competition with a chance to win a bottle of wine just for showing one of your turnings
Note : April is our AGM and the arrangements are different. It is only open to members and is not recommended for a first meeting!
Membership is just £30 per year (Jan to Dec) and is pro-rated for people joining during the year. There is also a discount for full-time students.

Stock up on wood or the finishes and abrasives you need for your next turning

See a variety of new ideas and techniques that might be just the thing you need to get you turning again
Come as a visitor

MASTERCLASSES
Twice a year we have a masterclass on a Thursday following a Wednesday evening demo – these usually cost £20 for the full day.
